Optimal power allocation strategy for black start in VSC-MTDC systems considering dynamic impacts

The ability of voltage source converters (VSCs) to restore blackout grid has been widely accepted based on their abilities in flexible and independent power control. However, the traditional literature only studied case a two-terminal hybrid system which all required black start (BS) is provided by single healthy AC grid. Meanwhile, dynamic changes at sending end, including converter, are not considered. In this paper, an optimal allocation strategy proposed perform BS VSC-based multi-terminal direct current (VSC-MTDC) systems. new ensures that grids can cooperate transfer together Thus, each needs provide proportion power. Furthermore, since practical VSC-MTDC projects generally limited small sizes, capacities with main characteristics also considered strategy. By reasonably setting optimization objective constraints, overall impacts be significantly reduced, stability guaranteed. Finally, comparison tests typical four-terminal verify feasibility effectiveness method.
